This section is for keeping a record of the good and the bad or our media and commentators.
This section isn't for discussing which policy is best (you can do that in the Policy and Science section of this forum).
And it isn't for discussing the politics of any issue (that should be done in other sections of the Politics part of this forum).
But whether or not something is fair commentary or good reporting is appropriate to discuss here.
I'm more interested in the performance of the media and commentators that the general public think are either balanced or progressive.
When, for example, Andrew Bolt writes an opinion piece everyone knows that he has a strong bias to the right. If you read Andrew and want to keep a record of his biases then you are welcome to start a thread on him in this section. I won't be doing so because I don't read Andrew and I don't think anyone would be surprised by a list of his biases.
What I think is most damaging is when the supposedly balanced ABC or the supposedly progressive The Age, Crikey or New Matilda are biased or unfair. So my prime interests it the quality of the non-right wing media.
In this section I'll be keeping a record of the quality of the media I consume.
I rarely listen to ABC radio or watch the 7:30 report, but others are welcome to start a thread to discuss the performance of this if they wish as well as for any other media outlet, commentator or program which you think deserves its own thread.
